Christine Byrne
My name is Christine Byrne and I am a self taught watercolour artist from Lancashire.
Painting and drawing has been a passion of mine since an early age, but has only recently developed into more than just a hobby.
Following 23 years in Banking and the birth of my twin daughters, I decided to devote more time to my painting. My first main commission was from the local heritage society when they asked me to produce their 2008 calendar which consisted of local historical architecture.
I have since displayed work at their exhibitions and have also had work exhibited at the Chapel Galleries in Ormskirk.
I work from photographs and pay close attention to detail, taking many hours to produce a true likeness of the subject. I particularly enjoy painting animals and birds although I do take commissions for portraits. I get a great deal of satisfaction from being able to paint on a regular basis, working around school hours!
Please feel free to visit and browse my website www.christine-art.co.uk and I hope you enjoy looking at my paintings as much as I have enjoyed producing them.
