Chris Dobson BA (Hons)
Staffordshire born and bred, Chris lives on the edge of the Staffordshire Moorlands with his wife Mary and old and wise border collie Splash.
Chris has spent more than 20 years working in industry as a graphic designer and illustrator after obtaining his BA (Hons) in Fine Art in 1984. His first love though is animal and wildlife painting and he hopes to become a full time artist in the future.
After working in many mediums over the years Chris now paints exclusively in pastels on velour paper and sandpaper which he feels gives him most satisfaction and the best results. He has also ventured into the world of miniature enamel portraits, really enjoying the intricate way of working.
Chris has been a member of numerous wildlife and pet charities for many years now and feels very
strongly about wildlife conservation. Horses and working dogs have featured strongly in many commissioned
works by Chris although he has painted all manner of pets, even parrots!
