White Horse by Chris Worswick

I have ridden and owned ponies and horses from the age of nine, enjoying competing in Riding Club teams, show jumping and showing. My interest in art was a hobby, until I was made redundant, giving me the opportunity to gain a teaching qualification and a Fine Art degree in Printmaking. The creativity and enthusiasm from every one on my courses has been outstanding and it has been a privilege to work in the community, as well as running summer schools and weekly watercolour classes.

Since 2000 I have diversified from 2D work and made large indoor and outdoor sculpture using textiles, animal hair and metal. During 2002 I was commissioned to work with Artists and farmers in Cumbria who were involved with the Herdwick breed of sheep, this resulted in two wool sculptures at Manchester Airport.

During this time I have been a member of Valley Artists in Rossendale, Lancashire. We are an active group of 13 members who exhibit and run print-making workshop, life drawing classes as well as `au plein air` -weather permitting.Metal Horses by Chris Worswick

Having recently retired from teaching I have taken on commissions and been part of Animal Artists `au plein air` group.
