Julie Cross

Julie is a self-taught artist who predominantly works in watercolour, although she also paints in oils and mixed media. Yorkshire born and bred, Julie lives near Leeds with her family and two dogs and relishes her time painting after a hectic academic career (she has a doctorate in Children’s Literature).
As a child, Julie was never away from horses and dogs and, although she turns her hand to any genre, she finds herself continually drawn to animal subjects.
She has had work exhibited at the National Exhibition of Wildlife Art in Cheshire and has been a
finalist in the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year competition since its inception, exhibiting
frequently at The Mall Galleries, London.
She has had paintings included in prestigious exhibitions such as the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition and the Society of Women Artists Annual exhibition, and she also often exhibits in local charity events.
