Hi, I’m Jools, a primarily self taught animal artist from Sale, Manchester. I've been a member of Sale Moor Art Club for over 12 years and I started painting pet portraits and pictures over 15 years ago, initially, just for friends & family.
I’ve always been a lover of animals, in particular pets. I really enjoy capturing a pet on canvas or paper i.e. bringing a photograph to life. I pay particular attention to showing the personality and character of the pet to provide an individual picture.
At present, I do commissions for pet portraits as a hobby, mainly in pastels, but recently have become increasingly interested in painting wild life and pictures of animals in their natural habitat in various mediums.
I want to develop my artistic skills to paint animals in action.
