Lesley Humphrey
A resident of the U.S., Lesley Humphrey is nevertheless a Lancashire lass who travels the world for artistic inspiration and often finds it here in the northwest of England. Seen here are images inspired by trips to Blackpool Beach and the Cheshire Show.
Humphrey's art became a mix of realistic and expressive, abstract elements when she was exposed to the works of Scotland's early Glasgow school. While her roots are clearly deeply embedded in the UK, Humphrey's work has been shown in several U.S. museums, has garnered international awards, and is in important collections throughout the world. Humphrey's passion is to inspire others on the journey to art, and she has always returned to Lancashire to participate in the AAA's Art Rendezvous with her friends.
Humphrey has been invited to be the official Kentucky Derby artist for 2011.
