Born in 1939, I studied art at The Harris College, Preston and Manchester College of Art. For many years I was an interior design consultant for a large multi national company. During this period I received a number of prestigious portrait commissions.

My preferred medium is oil although I also work with water colour, pastel, pencil and enjoy fine pen drawings. Paintings of wildlife, land and seascapes and horses now join portraits to expand a versatile portfolio. I have continued to paint for exhibition throughout my working life.Lion by Michael Miller

I have been a member of the Wildlife Art Society and The Equestrian Art Society for many years and have exhibited paintings at Christies, The Mall and Westminster Galleries in London and the Annual National Exhibition of Wildlife Art in the North West. Paintings have also been exhibited in London at both exhibitions of the Daily Mail ‘Not the Turner Prize’ in 2003 and 2004.

In 2007 I won the ‘Founders Award – Painting’ (Best in Show) at the American Academy of Equine Art Open Exhibition in Lexington, USA.

Michael, an award winning artist whose paintings are held in private collections in the UK and overseas, grew up in Lancashire and lives in Heskin. Of his artwork Michael says:

"I enjoy creating artwork, especially of horses and big cats. I enjoy the challenge of trying to exhibit, in the painting, the strength, power and grace of these animals."

Paintings are held in private collections in the UK and overseas.
